How has Dr. Lindon advanced Hazard Community & Technical College (HCTC), especially through marcom efforts?
Under Dr. Lindon’s leadership, the college has launched multiple marketing campaigns, such as HCTC Promise, a scholarship covering the first year’s tuition for first-time HCTC students; and Forge Your Way Forward, a debt forgiveness program for those who attended the college previously and wish to complete their degree.
During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Lindon led the college's communications, marketing and public relations efforts to support student health and safety. She is a friend to local news media outlets and their representatives; and she is willing to provide information about developments on the communications, marketing, and public relations fronts.
How has Dr. Lindon demonstrated her support for students?
When devastating flooding decimated the Kentucky River region, Dr. Lindon contacted affected students to inquire about their needs, in some cases driving to their flooded properties to ensure their safety, provide encouraging words and remind them of the college's emphasis on community. She also worked closely with the federal government, allowing the college's flagship campus to serve as an operations hub for the Federal Emergency Management Administration's efforts to provide financial assistance to those impacted.
How has Dr. Lindon advanced community colleges regionally and nationally?
Dr. Lindon uses her voice to champion causes relevant to community colleges in rural areas. She currently serves as Kentucky's representative on the Community Colleges of Appalachia Board of Directors. In this position, she provides leadership for the organization, serving the common interests of member institutes from 13 states and emphasizing the necessary role community colleges play in economic and workforce development.
