How has President Haynie supported the  marcom team at Eastern Arizona College (EAC)?

President Todd Haynie’s journey from director of marketing and public relations to college president uniquely equips him with the insight and vision to position and advance EAC. In 2022, President Haynie spearheaded a complete college rebrand. The primary logo, unchanged since 1992, and the 75-year-old Fighting Gila Monster mascot were modernized under his leadership. He united faculty, staff and the athletic department to create a brand identity that resonates with students, faculty and the community. This transformation significantly enhanced EAC’s visibility, clearly articulating who we are and why we matter.

How has President Haynie taken steps to advance EAC?

President Haynie has steered EAC on a path centered on three foundational pillars: student success, community engagement and financial stewardship. His commitment to students is unwavering, reflected in the diverse academic programs designed to empower learners from all backgrounds.

Significant infrastructure improvements over the past year include renovated residence halls, a revitalized activities center, and plans for a new cosmetology building.

“There isn’t a corner of campus that hasn’t been shaped, shined and polished by President Haynie,” said EAC vice president of academic and student affairs Susan Wood. “He has drastically improved student life and made astounding changes.”

How has President Haynie advanced community colleges nationally?
President Haynie was appointed by Gov. Katie Hobbs to serve as a commissioner on the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education. In this role, he collaborates with commissioners from 15 states and U.S. Pacific territories to address critical issues in higher education, focusing on expanding access for underserved populations and reinforcing the role of community colleges in the educational landscape.
