2024 District 2 Rising Star

Anne Falgout
Director of Strategic Communications
South Louisiana Community College
Lafayette, LA

What is one of Anne’s biggest accomplishments at South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc)?
Lana M. Fontenot, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement and External Relations at SoLAcc, remarked: "When Anne joined my team, I immediately put her in charge of our brand rebranding project, which was in its final stages of contract awarding. Anne got into the trenches to understand the background and has owned this project with extreme passion and dedication.  While executing an institutional rebranding project, she also produced, scheduled and managed the creation of programmatic videos and photography for 50-plus majors. She intentionally partnered with instructors in a way where they felt included in the process, which boosted their moral and pride in their programs and the college."

What personal attributes make Anne stand out in the field?
Anne is the embodiment of positivity, perseverance and professionalism. In her first year at SoLAcc, she transformed the marketing department into a force for good on campus. She makes every project, event and program she touches better; every interaction she has with staff, faculty and students is meaningful.

Anne serves on several institutional committees and often assumes leadership roles because of her strategic thinking, high-level execution and management ability. After only 18 months, she was honored with the Chancellor’s Award, which recognizes one employee annually who “inspires colleagues to continuously improve, acts as a role model, an inspiration and/or a source of support in the workplace and demonstrates a dedicated interest in helping others succeed.”

What skills does Anne bring to the  marcom team?
Anne is an exceptional communicator. She wrangles hundreds of opinions, streamlines chaos into winning ideas, pushes timely crisis messaging and keeps our internal and external stakeholders informed with thoughtful content and touchpoints.
