What have been Travis’ accomplishments at Arizona Western College (AWC) so far?
In his first year in the role, Travis he has facilitated the PR and groundbreaking/ribbon cutting events for four different new construction projects, which is a huge undertaking. He successfully collaborates weekly with the CTE and workforce deans and directors, who all have very different goals and personalities. Although Travis reports directly to the marketing department, he also serves a new, ridiculously ambitious VP/CEO of the Entrepreneurial College, which can feel like a 24/7 job; but he has repeatedly met her high standards, and she RAVES about him.
What characteristics make Travis stand out?
Travis' attention to detail is impeccable. He is ravenously curious and incredibly resourceful. He is always in pursuit of the answers he needs to get the job done. His background in television production gives him a strong eye for key visuals and an ear for professional communications. He doesn't hesitate to jump in where needed, whether drafting press releases, doing radio interviews, creating attractive social media posts, or helping strategize departmental budgets. He is known to be a consummate generalist. People come to him for answers for all sorts of things, and he usually has those answers.
What skills does Travis bring to AWC’s marcom and PR team?
Travis is incredibly skilled in project workflow, follow-through, meeting deadlines and clear communication. He has excellent client and peer relationships. Travis is kind of a magician with money, often finding the lowest cost/highest impact strategies. He is more on top of the news than anyone I've ever known, so he's our go-to person when we need to know what’s current and relevant.
